Battlefield 6 has huge problem with GSYNC/VRR/REFLEX and nobody seems to be talking about it.

This has been bothering me for some time and after doing a research I can confirm this is indeed an issue currently in the game. I can maintain high framerates with 9800X3D and rtx 5090 but the game does not feel smooth and mouse raw input does not help, often there are spikes in frame times and mouse feels glitchy/floaty.
My monitor is set up as per blurbusters guide, control panel for nvidia:
Low latency Ultra
maximum power
GSYNC
VSYNC ON
Frame rate uncapped
In game you put VSYNC OFF and turn on REFLEX. I do not use any DLSS upscaling or framegen, both are off and i use only DLAA with 35% sharpness @ 3440x1440 ultrawide
This in most games locks the fps approx -3-5% below monitor refresh rate, in my case it locks @ 225 fps on 240 HZ GSYNC monitor and i dont need to cap frames ,it is done automatically and works flawlessly in most FPS games like overwatch, Valorant, CS2 etc.
What happens in BF6 is in borderless mode this does not work at all and mouse feels floaty, also frame times are higher and inconsistent, Setting fullscreen kind of eliminates the issue but the root cause of the problem remains = When you open Steam overlay to display FPS, it will show "200 FPS" if i cap fps to 200, or 240" fps if uncapped, does not go to 225 as it should.
What is even more concerning is that the steam overlay often switches between display value + FPS and value + FG.
FG stands for framegen, and is displayed only when framegen is enabled, but in my case it is turned OFF.
This ultimately means BF6 often kicks in some built-in FrameGen when FPS dips below a certain threshold and it keeps switching. Everytime the occus (every few seconds basically) you can see FPS change to FG and back, everytime the input latency goes to 30ms and back to 5-15ms, this creates the weird mouse floating feel and often gets you killed.
I have seen EA forums and reddit posts confirming the same for various users with various setups.
This seriously needs to be addressed soon as it is quite gamebreaking for a lot of people.
Thanks for reading, have you experienced the same?

It won't get fixed. Game is only meant to be played with controllers.

I wouldnt say its as bad as CoD, BF does not have rotational aim assist, but the AA is super strong and needs a nerf, however, the best squads in both conquest and in RedSec on the leaderboard are mostly MnK players, i think we are safe
Anyway, this is not about input, but about Game being bugged out and not using reflex and framegen as it should and that is a huge technical problem that needs looking into

I also have this issue, can't play the game becase my screen is very big and I feel the stutter and get motion sickness. BF2024 is fine btw

Hey, there
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on this. We appreciate your thoughts on the GSYNC/VRR/REFLEX. I've dug into this online and can see that others in the BF community are talking about it, so the concerns are definitely out there.
We’re passing this along to the team so they can review it and keep improving the game for everyone.
For now, please keep an eye out in-game and look for updates on our official channels @Battlefield and @BattlefieldComm on X -

thank you for the update on the matter, appreciate a mod/support stopping by and acknowledging the issue!
best of luck, hopefully more fixes are on the way, thank you!

You can avoid the forced frame gen for now by completely disabling reflex in game.

tried on, on+boost, off - no difference
Tried DLAA/TAA/DLSS - no difference
Tried limiting my fps in control panel to 200, it happens every few seconds
Tried limiting fps in game - it happens all the time, so its even worse
The only thing i have not tried is turning of GSYNC, and i refuse to play without it as the tearing is something i cant tolerate on high-end system
Guess we'll have to wait for a fix

thats a tip i have not heard yet, why would the the input coefficient affect frames rendering? i will try that tomorrow out of curiosity!

That's a bummer that it didn't work for you. I've been pissed off watching my steam FPS overlay going between FPS and FG since launch. I haven't seen it switch from FPS to FG since I disabled reflex.

they are starting to say around here that the x3d cpus might have a problem with the game.

I tried reflex ON, BOOST and OFF zero difference
Now maybe the overlay just flags FG due to frostbyte engine, is my guess, but i could verify by seeing the frame time spikes and latency when the change happens on my nvidia performance overlay, but for some reason in BF6 it does not work!
I see all values N/A as if its not reading anything,,,,

referring to JayZcents video? That was about issues with AMD CPUs without x3d cache that are affected by Javeling anticheatm that should not be my case as i saw that video and my model 9800X3D is not listed.,
