Linux support?

Have they allowed Linux systems yet?
They use EAC, its literally a check-mark they have to set for compatibility.

EA/Dice probably have ZERO interest in having people on Linux with all kinds of compatibility layers spam their forum with bug reports that are caused by Linux and Linux only.
Linux is nice for some things. But please just stop using it for gaming.

Thats the most ignorant thing ive heard all day. Tell us you know nothing about linux without telling us.

One of the main issues is Linux is still seen as a utterly niche OS in a profit-driven industry. You could potentially get it to run via Proton, maybe?

mac os is a niche OS
simply put OP, it's not worth it ( for them ) ... if many users had linux and it would be worth it to make it run there, they would have ... but it's not, so they won't.
in fact, they won't even fix WIndows problems let alone add a support for a whole new OS ...

The game already works!
Its as i said, just a checkmark they have to tick off in EasyAntiCheat.

maybe it does, maybe it doens't ... officialy it doesn't, and it won't ... for the reasons i said.

You can start the game, but it wont let you connect to any server due to EasyAntiCheat not allowing Linux systems.
It CAN, its just a checkmark they have to tick off in their control panel to allow linux systems on, it worked in the beta.
Linux also works in any other battlefield, but 2042.

You didnt read what i said, clearly.
But thanks for taking time out of your day Mr. Bossman to help me though this very complex and confusing isse, speaking on behalf of EA and all, i gotta give them a recommendation on you.

what is your problem? you clearly have no idea what it means ( for them ) to OFFICIALY SUPPORT A NEW PLATFORM
doesn't even matter if it works 99% or not

They dont have to "officialy" support it, barely any game claims to natively support linux.
Most games work fine or even better via Proton on Linux when compared to Windows.
They just have to ALLOW it via their anti cheat, it already works, just as i said.
They dont have to market it as linux compatible, they dont have to claim anything and open themselves up for any liability, its legit just a checkbox in their anticheat software they have to tick and bam it will work, again - just like in the beta.
Its also not like they have to port it to a new console, it already works.
Its the native windows version that will work on Linux via proton.
The game worked back in beta, but its an issue with the anti cheat, not the game.

To my knowledge EA has and never will officially support linux. Mabye proton or linux has an extension or another workaround somewhere. If it worked for the beta then it should work for the full game. It could be the EA app in general since thats the new platform instead of origin so it couuld be just a simple update.
You might be able to use a virtual machine or side boot windows. Downloading it off of the EA app Might fix your issue to. Using too different platforms to launch and run a game can cause alot of problems while using only one platform generally wont cause alot of problems.

Bruh, you didnt read anything i posted in this entire thread.
None of your suggestions will work. not proton, not EA, not a VM.
And they dont need to officialy support linux, proton will take care of that, but they just have to chill with their anti-cheat, it already works, they just have to flip a checkmark in their Easy-AntiCheat control panel to allow linux systems, everything already fully supports it.
booting anything through steam with proton is almost the same as straight from steam, and if thats an issue then everyone has it (most likely).
