Just to clear up some misinformation about Battlefield 2042 server issues
I’ve seen a lot of people saying that Battlefield 2042 is currently unplayable and that EA/DICE may have intentionally limited or shut down servers to push players toward Battlefield 6.
I understand the frustration, because a lot of players are clearly having issues right now. However, I don’t think we should spread that claim unless there is an actual reliable source for it.

EA/DICE also released Battlefield 2042 update 9.2.0 as part of the “Road to Battlefield 6” content, which suggests they were still using BF2042 to keep players engaged rather than officially shutting it down:

So yes, there do seem to be real server, matchmaking, lag, rubberbanding, or region/mode-specific problems affecting players. But I have not seen reliable proof that EA/DICE intentionally disabled Battlefield 2042 servers to force people to buy Battlefield 6.
If anyone has an official EA/DICE statement or a better source, please share it. Until then, it seems more accurate to call this a server/matchmaking/performance issue rather than an intentional shutdown.
