PC Hard Freeze

Yatom123 · 27 May 2026 at 01:05 · permalink

Almost 700 hours invested in this glorious game to have it all ruined by that resent javelin anti-cheat update... causes my PC to hard freeze anywhere from 10 to 30mins in and have to be manually shut off via power button.
No suggested fix has worked, no reports/Logs to submit. The only logs with critical just indicate the power button pressed, nothing indicated a problem prier to freeze/crash that was logged.

My crusade into the Mt sides of Monte Grappa are over, my camping of Amiens alleyways are instantaneously canceled, my last dance on Ballroom Blitz.
Goodbye BF1, we had some good times but you cheated on me so I'm getting a divorce.

Do you have a AMD card ?

Yes i do have an AMD card/processor (it also effects intel/nvida), and yes I've updated the drivers and yes I've used the previous stable driver and yes I've used the integrated graphics in the bios and much more... wish EA fixes this nonsense in the future but i wont hold out any hope for it.
I'm not going to bend over backwards and climb up my own rear to turn myself inside out anymore just to play battlefield 1 when every other game and application on my system is running as intended.
Everything stems from the dumb Javelin Anti-Cheat that I have no control over and that is woefully ineffective, every kernel based anti-cheat I've run into still cant stop people that want to hack and cheat so i don't know why company's still use them.

This also happened on my PC 6 months ago. I stopped playing Battlefield; I would only play for about 20 to 30 minutes before my laptop screen went black and the PC froze, forcing me to restart it. All other programs on my computer work fine. I haven't played since.
