it's probably just updates to the anti-cheat. this game's been missing regular updates for years.

Not onl does the AC fail to stop hackers it messes with your Internet drivers and makes the game take forever to boot up.

After the update, the game is finally running again—after not working for two weeks. It's truly wild how deeply this anti-cheat software interferes with the system.
The lag still hasn't improved, despite my high-end PC.
Please—no more updates that make things worse!

This is the first thread that came up when I searched "Lag". Ever since the update my character rubber bands, does that back and forth walk for a second or two when running and the ping sometimes spikes to 250 for a second or two.
I literally cannot play anymore because I click to lay down and the character IMMEDIATELY gets up again (on his own). I do this 5-6 times and it's just dancing up and down like a clown.
I think this is it for me playing this anymore sadly.

No such thing as "Internet Drivers"
It doesn't change the TCPIP stack and it does not touch NIC drivers.
It does make the game take longer to start up cause it scans the system for running hacks etc.
Sadly, it doesn't eliminate all the cheaters and I don't suppose anything will given there is big money in selling actual working cheats/hacks so they got pro hackers on payroll :(
It'll either be an update to the Anticheat, Or an update to the EA App, My money is on door number 2.
