I played it a bit yesterday. I used to play this game loads absolutely years ago. I am nowhere near as good as i used to be, but damn do i love this game. How do i minimise the event logs that scroll up the screen on the left? Also i cant remember if the weapons are hitscan or not.
The only way I know to do it is change cg_draw2d to 0 Bind it to a key so you can toggle it on and off

You can edit that in the HUD editor if you install ETLegacy or play legacy mod.
play ETLegacy, theres a HUD editor there. Theres a video on yt on how to apply it to your steam install, you basically have to copy a bunch of files over
