The stage Gold rush being the first PL map in TF2 and both maps being about pushing a vehicle forward on a set path makes me think so. The mechanic is on Fueldump and Railgun too

Well this was the first fps to do it. Valve staff would of been aware of this game no doubt.
RTCW and Enemy Territory were actual groundbreaking team based FPS. Loads of games ripped them off.
I thought TF2 and Overwatch ripped of from Counter Strike.(In my region, Counter 1.6 was hugely popular when I was at middle school.)

CS isn't a team based shooter with classes, so nope.
I think that command and conquer renegade game had escorting NPC vehicles in it. That was 2002. Can't remember fully though. I only remember playing the multiplayer demo for it.

Yeah, that game had a team based multiplayer mode and it had class system.
