Install it to your main game folder then rename the ETL exe to et.exe

No troubles here and I renamed it

renamed the default game's exe to something else then renamed the etl.exe to et.exe and voila

We're talking about native support such as workshop, achievements and even rich presence.
doubt workshop would be of any use, the game's system to download as you join makes steam workshop a waste of time especially since most files are small, as for achievements, the base game itself doesn't have em. if it would get them then no doubt running Legacy as the steam version would unlock them.
