The game was originally developed by Splash Damage and published by Activision while id Software is the IP holder. When ZeniMax acquired id Software, the game was unlisted from Steam. Steam version is still functional; EU and NA regions have a populated server per each in the evenings respectively.

and why ETQW was unlisted form Steam ?
That is a good Question... no support to this game from Publisher or Dev Team xd maybe the give a s....hiii ......t about this game xd That is a shame
I've never understood why it didn't take off. It was a fantastically designed and balanced game with new graphics tech (megatextures) and supreme gameplay.. not sure what the problem was.
It was big back in its day.
ETQW was a bit different than other id titles in terms of technicalities and legalities.
As far as I know, it uses a proprietary authentication system which is still based on a service provided by Demonware, a subsidiary of Activision.
The game was licensed to Korean publisher Dragonfly by Activision to be released as slightly different exclusive for Korean and Japanese market under the brand of Quake Wars Online.
As you see, instead of clearing the legal obstacles, ZeniMax/Bethesda simply unlisted the game on Steam. Thankfully, it is still functional online. Besides, retail copies are quite easy to get.
Now i have a other question
''I have a copy of ETQW but I can't join in any server I can't even check the server list (this start before 1-2 week) also as sonn as i log in may account a message come saying there is update but when the update start the game crash'' any help about this?
