Hi, so I did bought a boxed copy of quake wars but I cant make it work, does the password get attached to a user name or something?? if it does, can I now (2016) still create a new account if I buy a sealed copy of the game?
Ive always wanted to play this, wich i had this on steam :/

I think your problem is probably that you are missing the 1.5 patch, since the servers that used to offer the patch during the installation/account activation of the game are now down.

So once the game is installed, unzip that file, then it should just be an executable. Be aware I am not 100% sure how this works with Steam, I got non-Steam version myself.
After the patch is installed and game restarted you should be able to create a user with your key, take notice that you can create as many user accounts as you want with one key, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Another problem could also be that the auth server for new players is down, this has happened now and then, but I don't think this is currently the case, because I know some other people have created user accounts.
If my solution doesn't work for you, or if you already got the patch, write me and I'll try to help you further.

We are a group of EU and NA players that gather twice a week to play the game, and we got organized tournaments and stuff, on the EU side we are currently 25 players. (We use Teamspeak 3).

Some other things you might need to know.
There is an anti-cheating thing called Punkbuster, some servers might require it, I'm not sure which ones. If need be I can help you install it.
Also you should know that the game is most active during European evenings, though I have seen full servers in the morning and afternoon on saturday/sunday. (Summers are always a little less active also, due to vacation and heat I suppose).
You can tell if a server is populated by humans or bots by looking at the numbers, if there is an extra number like this: (16), that means there is bots, if it's just two numbers like this 12/24, that means it's only human players. If the server says it has 16 players and the extra number says 15 then there is 1 human player and 15 bots.
But as I said, usually in Euro evenings there are full servers with human players, which I consider more fun.
And hey, give me the username you created and I'll add you to my friendlist, I will see if you are on this evening, but I will probably not be on too much due to Uefa 2016, two games tonight I want to watch. You can always give me a time in GMT or Moscow Standard Time if you are Russian. I'm Swedish myself so I am on Central European Time.

It would help to know where you are from, but yes, it's active both on EU and NA sides.
On the EU side you will pretty much find 1-2 full servers every evening, on NA side there is usually a populated server (BBA), often full. (Pretty much only evenings though).
And if that doesn't work out you can always come and play with TAW as a guest on one of our events. (Both TAW NA and EU have regular events every week).
