ET:QW going f2p

I would really like to see this game brought back to life.
And since it already runs on Linux and has controller-friendly UI, it would be great oppurtunity to get revived with release of Steam Machines.
If we were to make a petition, or somehow express to whoever owns the IP (probably Bethesda) that it would be good for them and for us to see this game revived.
I have written to Bethesda about this, but they did not reply, so I hope that some of you have better idea of how to bring F2P ET:QW closer to reality.

Would love to see it. Honestly, I think the best way would be for a someone with the skill to do a fantasy trailer for a re-release, make it look unbelievably good, and watch the hits and comments flow in. The company would pay attention to something like that, I think.
F2p QW would be astoundinly awesome. I would drop cash so fast on it. I spent $175 on WoT so I'm not afraid to spend money if the game is good.

yeah i've thought about just buying like 30 copies on ebay and just giving them to people and saying here play this u'll love it! and having them buy 5 copies and give them to people to play and try to spread the game that way but F2P is a much better idea lol
yeah the original ET was f2p and that was a great game for its time it really would not hurt them to make it free hell if i knew there were people playing id pay a monthly subscription

It is one of Splash Damage's games which are heavily objective and class based team shooters. Given the fact upcoming Dirty Bomb will be F2P, I hardly expect any fan of this particular genre is still interested in playing it. If we consider just the traditional "Battlefield-like" games, Battlefield 3 is sold almost for free during one of the HB sales for a while; people are still playing it. Battlefield 2142's master servers are shut down; people are still playing it regardless. EA has just announced a new Star Wars: Battlefront game. A similar game, Renegade X is for free and is about the reach Steam. Therefore, I do not see much hope for ETQW. The game is not even in Steam Store any longer for earth's sake... Shame...

I wish it gets rereleased as a F2P game. I saw this waaaay back in 2007 but could never get the chance of playing it. Now I have chance but not the game xD
