Tried all the tips in the FAQ section, I click launch, a small window appears in the middle of my screen, few seconds later it closes and the button on Steam goes back to PLAY. Tried deleting the conf files, resetting back to safe video mode, nothing works. Help?!

Thanks for the info. Have done both, still has the same effect. Click play, screen goes black for a second, then returns to the main Steam Page and PLAY is available to be pushed again.
