game breaks completely after exiting fullscreen

exited fullscreen on a mod from the graphics settings. Now every time I run that mod the game starts closing and restarting every few seconds until it is force quit/task ended. Any way to fix this? I would really like to play these mods but even uninstalling then reinstalling them from the workshop did not work.
