Trying to switch from Breakthrough to Conquest, but it just feels like random running around. Tips/Thoughts?
previewI’ve been a Breakthrough main forever, but the bad teamplay and constant steamrolling (plus the black screen bug if you back out after getting steamrolled three times) have made me want to give Conquest a try. The thing is, I don’t really get what people like about it. Can someone please explain why it’s still one of the core Battlefield modes with such a huge playerbase?
Here’s what I do like about it: depending on the map, you get the full vehicle roster, the freedom to choose your area to fight in,sandbox gameplay and matches that are actually playable until the end. If you get stuck on the first sector in Breakthrough, it just turns into a miserable spawncamping sniper circus that takes forever to finish because everyone is hiding.
However, the few times I’ve played Conquest in BF6, my experience was basically this:
* Little Birds or Attack Helicopters farming the Sever with Level 30000 pilots.
* Every hill and rooftop packed with snipers (not Recons... just snipers).
* Fights around objectives being sub 5vs5, which doesn't feel like "All-Out Warfare"more like a minor property dispute.
* Players spread so thin across the map that support gadgets are basically self-use only.
* Zero infantry support when driving a vehicle; if you don't tryhard, you get blown up instantly.
* No actual frontlines or large-scale battles.
* Even less reviving than in Breakthrough.
* It's extremely hard to read where the team actually needs help. It feels like randomly wandering the map and capping a point only because you stumbled across it (I know map knowledge plays a role, but that doesn't help when everyone else moves like in a robot lawnmower patern).
I’d love to hear why or how you guys play Conquest.
People keep telling me to just play Escalation, but I don't really get that mode even less. You start with only light vehicles, and by the time the heavy ones unlock, the match is almost over/ending with literally every single soul either in a vehicle or playing Engineer.
