The controller seems to lower gameplay level

Understandably so, because people can't aim with that thing. (it's a dumb input device for an FPS)
So what happens is, instead of gunplay we get C4 chucking, laying in fetal position in a corner, RPG as primary vs infantry, M320HE ... Basically anything to avoid having to aim a rifle.

The controller players find other ways to "play the game" but, it's kind of bad for the skill level and quality of games?

I know a LOT of you are on controller so this topic will receive a lot of hate, but if you're honest, is the controller kind of screwing up the FPS genre in general? (look at aim assist and the perpetual drama around it for instance)

So the controller was all good for BF3, BF4, BF1, CoD, etc, making those the apex FPS ever made…. But you’re whining about it now and saying THAT is what is destroying the game? Lol.

None of that ever happens from KB+M players in the history of Battlefield games. /s

This is so braindead I assume it's an ai bot.

It’s about accessibility. Not everyone has a PC and it’s also just more relaxing playing from a controller. You can sit back and relax. Can’t stress this enough as someone who went from console to PC.

Controllers can be just as competitive as mouse and Key in the right person hands. Yes there are benefits and drawbacks to each but in no way is it ruining gaming.

Just a very ignorant take.

If you ask me is couch cruisers are playing the game more like it’s supposed to be played with all the goofy shit we do to secure kills. It is a game after all.

I mean, why shouldn’t I fly a helicopter into that APC camping on the hill above C on Tsuru? The oceans right there, truck don’t like ocean. Fuck truck!

Those players would do the same shit on kbm too. "Blow shit up" is a classic battlefield playstyle since its a sandbox, and not a milsim.

"Prone in a corner" is not intrinsically a controller problem either, not sure how that got conflated with using a controller. I find plenty of PC kbm players lying in corners or bushes.

The only thing "screwing up FPS" as you put it is over tuned aim assist. Everything else you mention here is just part of battlefield as a game, because there are many legitimate ways to play the game without having to "aim a rifle".

As someone who has gone back and forth between controllers and my keyboard and mouse, it's really not that big of a deal unless you're trying to participate in e-sports or ranked play where the differences do matter.

Controller players aren't doing the behaviors you're describing, that's something that happens regardless of their input method (the splash damage on the RPG is the smallest it's ever been in the franchise, this isn't the result of them needing aim compensation). C4 spam in hallways and stairwells has been the entirety of my experience on BF3 PC on infantry maps. Campers are going to camp regardless of their input device too.

No. Console shooters have been around for a long time. It’s an input device and player creativity will come through regardless of the device

Is KBM superior? Yes, it's easier to control recoil

For a controller user it is hard to snipe, it is hard to control the recoil and aim assist cannot compensate that.

Not everyone wants to use KBM for fps games
