This Game Is Starting To Feel Like A Crumbling Building

Something has been feeling really off to me as this event has progressed. I have more than 800 hours in this game and a lot of that time has been fun. But it’s starting to feel like this game was built on a shoddy foundation, and they keep just stacking more on the top and it’s starting to crumble. More and more it seems as if there is something inherently flawed in the overall design of the maps and modes, on top of the many small bugs that persist.

They’ve been able to do little to nothing for match balance, as we know very few games have that satisfying back and forth. I can’t even say whether the gunplay changes overall have been good or bad, because matches feel wildly inconsistent when it comes to hit reg/who has priority/im not really sure what to call it. The game is jsut different than it was at launch, with more maps yes, but better or worse idk.

This season has brought us Tsuru which features the most horrifically balanced Breakthrough ever (what the fuck is happening in battlefield labs?), carrier strike which obviously has a huge camping problem, gauntlet jet sweep where we’re forced to watch that dumb video before every match, and new jets which are cool, but leave us no way to have those new jets in older maps without making the OG jets irrelevant.

The everyone is a medic bug on the mini map is still there, the map rotation has done nothing for better match making, they took away Augur which was massively popular, told us it was coming back at the end of season 3 after they balanced it and then did nothing for balance and delayed it. Strikepoint is still mia and you can’t tell me it’s that hard to fix it in the grand scheme of game design.

And these are just a few things I can think of off the top of my head. It feels like there is some really mediocre management keeping this game down. The roadmap always looks great, and then ends up somehow being a facade or poorly implemented. I do not really expect this situation to improve much, but I hope I’m wrong.

i played for like 600 hours and got bored, touched some grass, maybe I'll return sometimes in the future.

Well it was same for me, I fixed it by playing hardcore servers. One shot type matches. They're fun and actually forces you to change playstyle as you can get one shotted anytime. You can also one shot others. Ever since that, I havent been able to play regular games. There is one Faithwalker server which you can join. It allows all progression and stats and always have 60 players. Try hardcore servers for a change

No dedicated servers basically killed the game. The game maps and game type imbalances can be fixed by player if we had a server browser. IE, remove the tanks they added to Breakthrough for instance, and make the mode fun again.

Actually yes, it’s after trying to come back to it that I started feeling this stuff more. Now I play like maybe an hour with my friends and that’s it

Don’t worry about me, I’m quite productive. I jsut prefer to game as opposed to scroll socials or even watch tv/movies unless it’s something I’m really excited about. I can’t stand watching tv/movies if they’re not really getting me hyped
