How do I make the SVDM work?

I've heard from a couple of different sources that the SVDM is really good but I struggle to consistently hit shots with it. I'm not sure how to build it but I feel like you either take the 20 round mag or hollow point ammo. I'm wondering if I should build more into control though since I have a hard time hitting those 3 taps consistently. If anyone has any advice on it or on other DMRs they think are better, I'd really appreciate it 🙂
