[COD] Should classic mode be a feature in every game going forward? Why or why not?

Black ops classic was added to BO7 as a result of players complaining the movement was too fast to keep up with, and when it was added it was so popular that Treyarch moved to make it a full time playlist rather than the LTM it was supposed to originally.

Me personally I would say yes, you could have the main playlists in the game feature the modern cod movement that some players have grown to love due to the skill expression, and then the classic playlist for players like me who love the modern responsiveness of cod but don’t necessarily want to sweat every game. Personally I believe everyone wins this way.

What are your thoughts?

I don't think it would work long term. At some point it would just make sense to go completely back to the old movement entirely.

I think MW4 would definitely benefit from a classic mode. I’d consider buying it if it did because I’m over the slide jumping meta. But for the future of the franchise they’d be better off just going back to old school movement

I think the same personally, black ops classic in BO7 feels so fucking good it’s insane, it’s modern and responsive, gunplay feels good, movement isn’t like clunky or slow like the old games but it isn’t cracked either. genuinely a 10/10 cod experience for me.

I think they will with Treyarch's 2028 game.

Originally i was thinking it would be a set just before BO3 with the Coalescence tease.

But i now think Treyarch's next game will go back to basics on everything.

BO1/2 Movement (no sliding)

Pick 10 (simple attachment system)

BO1/2 style maps (No doors)

But none of this matters if we still have Infinity Wards exhausting and manufactured Matchmaking system.

Agreed

No, the entire game should be reverted to a “classic mode”

I’ve been saying this for the longest time. Just like they have hard-core mode, etc. Just have traditional mode. We’re all the players have traditional movement. They would probably get many more people buying the game.

Huge agree. Having options is great

I really hope Treyarch just keeps improving on their current movement model. Maybe wall jumps are extreme, fine, but omnimovement should become a staple in Treyarch games at the very least.

No, it ro s each new game the opportunity to crrate its own identity. We can see the issue arise where MW4 is lacking in a clear identity because they have in to the demands of movement chuds, streamers and Treyarch fans.

I want another Jetpack game but thats never happening lmao, I'd also want them to continue with the BO7 movement, but people just want Pre MW19 movement/gameplay and i think SHGs next game will be the last MW19 type game and Treyarch's game will be back to Basics.

I love the BO7 movement but the majority wants classic.

Only if MW4 gets omni-movement, otherwise it's pointless, splitting the player base for nothing.
