What is the logical explanation (no trolling) on why the game is so neglected?

sega0719 · 7 Sep 2026 at 13:27 · permalink

It is impossible for devs to not know what is going on with the cheating situation and at this rate the game will continue to bleed players...

What is the logical/realistic explanation for the current situation? Why there is no action taken? Why is the situation not escalated to higher ups at Valve for something to change?

There's like 5 people working on the game bud

there was a whole ass website launched to train their AI model like less than a month ago if a month ago at most, is that a trolling comment to you? is that not allowed? clearly they are not neglecting it.

Most likely the CS2 team isn't large enough to handle the issue and it has been escalated to higher ups at Valve. If they haven't noticed, which I very much doubt, they'll notice when their pockets are lighter because people aren't playing.

The answer is money I guess.
Valve doing millions over millions of USD selling terminals, cases and other cosmetics.

As far as they don't see decrease of profit, they wouldn't act

Five devs or five people in total?

Money flows in, no pressure to do anything.

The only real solution is a kernel-level AC, which Valve doesn’t want to implement because it adds an extra step to launching the game. Everything today is about being as frictionless as possible, and even that one additional step creates a small barrier that could discourage some new users from downloading and playing the game.

Fewer players = fewer skin sales = less money.

The logic is that it makes bank either you play it or not. Because pros go faceit and the rest are just a self jerk bunch of kids trading pixels on a screen.

Why put effort in dev when you get loads of money just by upgrading the engine and never touch it again, only for small collision bugs corrections?

Vote with your wallet. Never spent a dime in this crapfest and haven't played since last year.

You don't need a kernel level AC

Overwatch also has a user level anticheat and it handles cheating way better than CS. Most cheats are detected. Unlike CS where even free cheats remain undetected for years

Because there is a loud minority that thinks the game is dying. The normal playerbase just queues up and plays.

One degen case gambler makes up for a 1000 disgruntled players leaving.

And sadly there are many such degens, if it's sustainable in the long run remains to be seen.

Have you ever thought about what would happen with the training of that AI when cheaters are training it? Only one is necessary to invite multiple cheaters and the whole purpose of training that AI is gone
