Tell me I'm not the only one. It's a holiday and I'm at work.
The worst part is that it was OPTIONAL! I'm a sucker for a good paycheck I guess. 😂
Anyone else at work today?

My sympathies brother 👍🏻
yep, stuck here too - optional my ass
I had two jobs until last year, for 20 years. I have a regular day job with holidays off, and my other job was contract work from home, and so I worked every night, weekend, and holiday other than maybe 4-5 weeks on actual holiday tops in those years. It sucked, even working from home, I was stuck at my desk 12 hours a day some days. I feel you.
Thank you, it's not really a big deal. I came in (this is even worse) at 6:30... food trucks are coming at 12:00 so I'll eat, visit some other associates and leave at 2:30. It'll feel like a short day.
That's a grueling schedule. I do have my weekends and I'm off this Friday for an out of town concert so I felt like I should work today. I'm an over achieving, money making opportunist. lol
Still, it sucks. None of us should work this much and we should all make much more money. Give everyone everything, I say.
It was a horrible schedule even if it was desk work and some from home, I hated it.
Oh desk work is terrible.... it's what I do now for most of my day. I'd prefer being up and about moving.
When I did work in restaurants and retail, I was the one who would work on holidays.
As a food server, you have control over your income.
So I picked up any shifts available.
I lived in Los Angeles.
With my income I was able to own a car and motorcycle.
And rent a place obviously.
Labor Day isn’t a family or traditional holiday like Christmas or Thanksgiving.
I indeed worked those holidays
I uh... volunteered for 16 hours today... butnits 2.5x allll day, so hard to pass up a weeks worth of pay in one day.

Exactly! It's double time (bonus!) and I don't have any holiday plans... my husband is in the same industry as me and he is also choosing to work today (different employer). It's a big ch-ching! We work hard but we also play hard so it makes sense.
Restaurants are open always..!!! Working on holiday where everyone is making plan to be outside and I am working
