Bold Predictions 26-27 season

ecstazy_ezy · 7 Sep 2026 at 13:37 · permalink

1) Neither the Thunder nor the Spurs will finish 1st in the Western Conference at the end of the season.

2) The 76ers will win the NBA Cup, solidifying LeBron James as the first ever two time winner.

3) Wemby will win both MVP and DPOY awards this year

4) Cooper Flagg will win Most Improved player and skyrocket to 27 ppg

5) Kingston Flemings and Darryn Peterson will be the two competing for ROTY

6) The Finals will be Spurs vs Pistons, with Spurs winning their 1st title with Wemby

7) A big trade will occur with Zion Williamson mid season

Thoughts?

I really do wonder how low Zion’s trade value is at this point in his career.

Timberwolves will be a play-in team.

Coop MIP is a stinky ass prediction

These are all bold in that they're not happening. Maybe 2 and 3. And 4 although that's really not what MIP should be about

I think it’ll be high. A team like Minnesota or Boston can use his skill

OKC is definitely finishing 1st again.

Pistons aint got it.

My hot take is Jayson Tatum MVP.

Pistons making the finals might be the craziest take here honestly, the rest I could see.

I personally dont think either the Knicks or the Spurs make it back to the finals. If we look at the past few teams that made the finals, all of them suffered injuries either during finals they made, the next season or the next postseason. I think modern basketball takes too big of a toll for a team to make 2 deep runs in a row without losing at least 1 key piece after the first run.

A lot these are reaches but yes you’re correct. Most likely not to happen but bold in its right that something like this could happen

As much as I think he is a truly skilled player, I think his health and how good shape he’s in has severely diminished his value. Narratives have an enormous impact on what players are worth nowadays.

I highly doubt the Thunder or the Spurs don't finish first. Specially the Thunder. I can see the Spurs losing games because of an injury or whatever, but the Thunder are deep and won 62 games without many of their players. Also, I don't see it as a bold prediction that Wemby will win both awards. He's basically locked for DPOY barring injuries and MVP is a narrative award from the top 5 players in the league, so it's certainly possible he wins.

Cooper Flagg is not winning MIP, if he does, the award sucks. Ja shouldn't have won it either.

It’s truly a possibility with how deep the west still is
