My favourite movie; The Blind Side has been ruined.

I re-watch it every three or so years, and ive just finished watching it again. This time, I decided to research about the book it was based off. To my surprise and horror, i found out from the internet that in 2023, the main character Micheal Oher, filed a lawsuit against his adoptive parents, claiming they coerced him into signing a conservatorship, instead of officially adopting him, so they could take control over his finances. They no longer are in contact.

He also didnt like the movie made about him, because they made him look stupid. I love movies based off real life stories, but this one has been soured completely.

What other films do you like? I wonder if we can steer you toward some good ones.

I could tell the movie was nonsense half-watching it at a friend's house.

Yea this suburban soccer mom is gonna be teaching kids about blocking footwork, and of course the drug addict mom is gonna have a fully furnished house no definitely wouldn't have pawned all that years ago, those are totally things that can actually happen in real life.

Good news is there's so many better movies out there to experience that aren't built on fraud.

If you love movies based on real events you should stick to documentaries. All Hollywood biopics are dramatizations.

You should watch a second movie to see if that's still your favorite.

I love Michael Lewis as a writer. The opening of the Blind Side books is one of the best-crafted pieces of sports writing I've ever seen. "From the snap of the ball to the snap of the first bone is closer to four seconds than to five" is such a bar.

I loved Moneyball and I loved Liar's Poker.

But you should never mistake Michael Lewis's stories for pure non-fiction. He takes a lot of reality raw material and crafts it into a fiction story.
