I'm looking at building a PC for under $650 and these are the parts that I looked at, I'm genuinely not looking to play the next gen

the most intensive games i think i'm going to ever be playing are borderlands 4, cyberpunk 2077, that new lego batman video game, and some sim racing. honestly i'm okay with 30 fps, 720p. i know that's not what a lot of people understand when they hear games but i don't know. my current gaming pc is an hp elite desk 705 g4 which is not a gaming pc in the slightest and i still make it work. i'm looking at this and i'm thinking "this is an upgrade."

Basically I play a lot of old school titles and first person games I could care less about the multiplayer landscape to be honest with you. If I even touch a call of duty game it's purely for the story and to mess around with bots or play zombies

The only thing I can think of salvaging from my current PC is the nvme and I have some USB 3.0 drives I have almost a terabyte of storage and total that I can put into the new pc the thing is though is I've never built a PC. I could probably do it with some tutorials I'm pretty technical I've built other things.

Just really want to know is this reasonable for what I'm looking for?

You are better off just buying a used system than looking for parts.

skip the 5 pack of fans, that case comes with one and your parts wont be putting out crazy heat anyway. grab the 5600 and 6600 combo and you'll be set for 720p honestly, those games will run way better than you're expecting

Yeah I ended up looking for parts because I couldn't find anything on the used market that seemed worth it. Everything in my area of Facebook marketplace and stuff it's just old gaming PCs that are worse than what I already have for just a little bit better. I don't even know what to really look for in a pre-built that would let me know that I can just use it the way how it's intended. I would love to be able to upgrade when I want to upgrade rather than being blocked behind proprietary parts or whatever. I'm a little old school I come from the days where you just go to the store and you buy an HP or a Mac and that would see your options for a good PC

All the stuff you've posted can easily run Cyberpunk at 1080p or even 1440p so you're good!

The R5 5600 has around 10% better single and multicore performance and double the L3 cache of the R5 5500, solid performance bump for peanuts in price difference based on the prices you have posted.

The 5600 + 6600 is worth the extra. The 6600 is technically weaker than the 5700XT, but the 5700XT lacks hardware RT, which means that some current games won't run at all.

The 6600 will run every game on the market with sufficient settings compromises.

Yeah I know that. I'm talking about like the newest titles like if a game just comes out and it requires a better PC than what I have I don't mind playing it at that

If you live near a microcenter the bundles are tough to beat for CPU/mobo/ram

Series X is the more powerful one, Series S is trash

The series s is 3.6 while the series x is 3.8, not much of a big difference theoretical performance does both teraflops but with a lockdown ecosystem what are you even getting that out of no console game allows you to adjust the sliders so if the game comes pre-installed with 1080p medium that's what you're playing
