Would dropping a 4k oled tv (LG C4) resolution to 1440p be a good idea if my RTX 4070 TI SUPER can’t handle DLSS 5 at 4k? I’m thinking of getting a TV to game on as they’re typically more immersive, should I stick with my 1440p monitor?

Why not just lower the DLSS upscaling preset further? Ultra Perfornance is a thing and would be equivalent to a 720p upscale.
I imagine the FPS hit will still be too big but you should probably just try and see if you like it
Why not just switch to 1080p and then use ultra performance with neural rendering? The ai filter faces make the game so much better.
I don't even want to go back playing Control at 240 fps, I love it at sub 60 with Jesses face being so realistic.
What games do u need it in? Currently with a couple optiscaler versions you can lower the nr res and get a lot more performance while looking mostly the same
The thing is I still get bad preformance, also dlss 5 is rendered after the upscaled image, now there are mids that lets it be upscaled but I’m not too happy with the preformance either, for some reason it just performs better at 1440p
I don’t know if I did something wrong but for me the performance hit is still big with it, in cyberpunk I get 114 fps with fg + dlss ultra performance at 4k (tried with DLDSR), but with dlss 5 it drops to 65fps even with the new mod
I tried it at 1440p on my mobile and I think that it’s acceptable
Under neural rendering dropdown do you have the slider that starts at 100%??
Bad idea. 1440p will look blurry as hell on 55". Just play without DLSS 5 and let them optimize it.
To be blunt it doesn't sound like your hardware is capable of running DLSS 5 on a 4k panel then. You don't even need to make a decision here - stick with your monitor because 4k isn't an option.
Or get a 1080p TV. Or give up on DLSS 5. Not really any other options.
No, but I tried all sliders and nothing changed
No. 1080p is the only viable option from 4k. 1440p looks like ass on 4k
