The state of BF4DB is pathetic: Permabans for glitches while the real problems go ignored

PartWelsh · 18 Jul 2026 at 16:47 · permalink

I need to vent about how incredibly backward BF4DB’s banning system and community "police" have become.

Recently, I got hit with a ban because I used an under-the-map glitch with the Apache attack heli in a single match. Yes, it was a glitch. No, I wasn't running some third-party cheat software. But BF4DB treats doing a map glitch exactly the same as someone running an aimbot, permanently locking you out of half the maps in the game.

To make matters worse, the whole thing was pushed by one of those "goody two-shoes" players who treat policing servers like a full-time job. We all know the type. The irony is, this same player spends entire matches lingering in the attack heli, never dying, and racking up highly suspicious kill streaks that practically scream "cheat." But because they play the role of the loyal server informant, BF4DB takes their word as gospel and drops the hammer on anyone else. They love to flaunt that they're "Clean" yet they repeatedly do things which are suspicious and cheat like but can't be proven due to hiding on non spectator servers, This individual I am referring to also has multiple accounts to do his "Policing", What is this? a George Michael arrest? lol

Now, because of BF4DB's aggressive tracking, any linked account I try to use gets instantly scorched. It's ridiculous that the system is set up to permanently exile players for game-engine bugs from a decade-old game, while looking the other way when the "right" people have suspiciously flawless gameplay.

Has anyone else dealt with this kind of hypocrisy from BF4DB and their unofficial server police? It’s killing what’s left of the game,

Admitting to using a glitch and upset that got you banned. lol 😂

Wow, I never knew using a "glitch" would be classed as cheating, It's apart of the game and not external, If you care to be bothered, Run to a server admin. Not fucking ban somebody from the entire game for life with a external plugin lmao

Yes they are clowns, and so are you if you are mad you got banned for glitching. I have no love for BF4DB, but you earned it bro.

Don’t use glitches to gain advantage dude.

Glitches in this game represent an unfair advantage in a vast amount of cases over the standard gameplay, which is the one the most of people are set to play on, either because they don’t know how to use them or not. If it wasn’t BF4DB what banned, it would be an admin from any average server anyway.

Bro, if you're using glitches and exploits to gain an advantage over others, then the server admins are in their full right to ban you from participating in their servers. And since all of BF4's are community run and not maintained by DICE, server policing is important so that exploits and cheats don't run rampant on the servers.

Wow, another clown missing the point. A self-appointed circus like BF4DB shouldn't get to globally dictate which in-game bugs are permabannable. They have absolutely zero official authority from EA or DICE to permanently revoke a paying customer's access to the game.

Furthermore, a glitch is a broken mechanic left in the base game code by the developers—it is not a third-party hack. Yes, it’s annoying, but dealing with it is the job of the individual server admins to kick or ban players from their specific server. It is not an excuse for an unofficial, third-party database to globally nuke an entire account. Stop defending these power trips

Getting kicked from the server for a glitch? Sure, I'd take that on the chin. Getting permanently blacklisted from half the remaining player base by an unofficial third-party plugin because they treat a map bug like a hardcoded aimbot? That is a joke. If you can't see the difference between a server-level punishment and a global permaban, you are missing the entire point of the post

PartWelsh · 18 Jul 2026 at 17:23 · permalink

There is a massive difference between injecting third-party cheat software to gain an advantage and stepping into a broken floor that EA never bothered to patch. One is an actual hack, the other is a local admin issue. If a server wants to police glitches, kick me from the lobby. Defending a global permaban for it is delusional

This game is 100 years old, just get over whatever state the community is in

PartWelsh · 18 Jul 2026 at 17:27 · permalink

"'Just get over it,' says the guy unironically lurking in the subreddit of a '100-year-old game' just to defend a terrible admin system. The lack of self-awareness is wild. If the game is so old, maybe the unofficial volunteer police at BF4DB shouldn't be handing out global permabans for first-time map glitches and actively killing off whatever player base is actually left

Not to mention, practically every map in Battlefield 4 has that common rubble glitch. Once a building collapses, there are always sections where you can crawl through the debris, glitch inside the walls, and shoot people while being completely invisible and unhittable. Players abuse that exploit constantly to get an 'unfair advantage,' but somehow BF4DB doesn't give a shit about that one. It just proves how arbitrary and hypocritical their global permabans really are

Permaban is not a reasonable response unless this was after several offenses.
