For those experiencing this and looking for answers, it’s a known issue. EA themselves are aware and actively investigating.

There is currently no known fix for this. It sucks, but sadly 2042 is not EA’s priority.
Hopefully it’s fixed soon and we can get back to 2042.

In the year 2026, the age of AI, EA's performance here is tearing me apart. They've completely ruined the game.
Jeez I wanted to play cause I just redownloaded the game after some months because I dont want to reinstall windows for battlefield 6 (I installed it like a doofus so I can't into secure boot lmao) and now i just can't play. EA plz fix

To be fair the new map is excellent, but the cynic in me would agree with you.

I did see someone mention earlier that attempting to join a match of team deathmatch, cancelling just as it tries to take you into a match, and then trying to join your intended game mode, worked some of the time. I believe their (clearly joking) words were "60% of the time it works all the time," or something along those lines. I'll have to see if I can track it down. Their instructions were pretty specific.
This is pretty bad considering it's of course still being sold on Stores for console and PC.
Imagine purchasing a game and being unable to play it due to the Developer/sellers fault. I don't think I've ever come across that, except for Fallout 3 back in the day and that was on launch obviously.
Yeah true. It’s a remake. But it’s the best we have and it’s a very good remake.
Oh yeah, for a company as large as EA - it’s a disgrace. I think it’s probably illegal under consumer law.
I wouldn’t mind switching over to 6 if they ported some 2042 maps over (and also fixed the netcode) but this will never happen. I legit love 2042 and its approach to maps. I hate the claustrophobia nature of BF6 map design. It’ll be season 7 or 8 by the time there’s a health rotation of large maps in BF6.
