Back from BF6

BF6 is just extremely frustrating, boring and broken for many reasons we all know about... I level up guns basically just by assists, for some reason my team is always 100% r-word players and 9/10 times I alt+f4 out of total boredom. I hopped back in 2042 and my god, this game feels 100 times better... Hitreg? Perfect. Gunplay is balanced (or at least better than BF6's that's for sure), visibility is great and footsteps audio (or just audio in general) is not broken... How in the goddamn hell the next game is a total downgrade from the previous recently? And BF2042 was not well received as far as I remember...

I was one of the small bunch that really liked this game during its time but it’s not better than bf6 not sure what you’re talking about

Gunplay sucks ass, recoil is nowhere to be found on 99% of guns, sidearms sucks and damage/ranges values are just horrible (come on, how a 5.45 deals less damage than a 9mm... just one example), Audio is still not fixed despite the many statements about it in the patch notes and soldier visibility is horrendous, no wonder that everyone runs a thermal. Weapon progression is still slow, drip-fed maps and content, LTMs that could easily be in the game permanently, the list goes on... 2042 is not perfect and not better than previous titles, but playing BF6: frustration and alt+f4, playing 2042: A nice, casual and enjoyable evening of playing an FPS game...

As a BF1942 player, every game since BF4 has been a literal downgrade.

Completely agree!

I kinda agree with u in the aspects such as hitreg, netcode, footsteps and many more. Not to mention armored gameplay. But still playing bf6 over bf2042, because it feels more "alive", but not playing more than 30mins per each run, because as you mentioned it becomes stale really quickly.

Despite all the letdowns game has atm, the worst issue for me is gunplay. Its just laser beaming from every possible distance and ttk is so fast, there is close to 0 chance of reacted to it. If it was fixed....

But as a player, who played every BF2, I tend to wait 1-1.5 years after launch of each bf.

Its the time it usually takes to fix all the broken stuff :D Lets hope it will happen to bf6 too.

0.5-1 year left to go :D

100%. Going back to 2042, it feels like night and day.

Me and a friend hopped on a full 128-player Portal server this weekend and had the time of our lives, and some of the most fun we've had in a BF game in a while.

You new?

Every BF is a disaster the first year or so. Just as BF2042, though it was the worst disaster since the release of BF4.

I had been considering buying BF6 but am extremely wary on account of the critisicm it receives. I've been playing a lot of 2042 and having an absolute ball in spite of the low human to bot ratio.

Just finished playing BF6 with my friend after a 3 hour session, we could easily play more but have work in the morning. Good luck with 2042, if I decide to go back playing an older battlefield, I'm going back to BF1 or even BFV.

Problem with bf6 that no fixes with change it from being call of duty. Its not bf anymore

You just highlighted something very important at the end: BF 2042 excels if you approach it as a fun, casual experience, especially with a buddy or two. It's low stakes but high fun gameplay. It also has something which is missing by design from BF6 which is the possibility of having smaller mini-battles over single capture points throughout the map. BF6 just funnels the teams into direct linear confrontation whereas 2042 (and all prior BFs) allow frantic battles over isolated points between fewer squads that are their own thing.

That is true. But this battlefield had like, what, FOUR entire studios to make it? Putting that many resources into it should make the game feel somewhat decent compared to their curse of being bad a while after a release. BF6 had a record-breaking launch in terms of sales and they still laid off tons of staff. I'm convinced that EA just doesn't give a shit anymore

I been saying this man. BF6 feels more like a chore to play, its too chaotic and sweaty. 2042 gives you breathing room and its just so much cleaner.
