Im tired of every engagement being a dice roll

Like I want to enjoy this game and get something out of it, and when matches are smooth its an enjoyable, intensely satisfying game.

But 90% of the time Im struggling, dont feel like Im improving or even can because the firefights make no fucking sense. My shotgun goes from able to land kills yards away to firing nonexistent pellets mere inches, my M443 goes from passable to taking full mags to do what SMGs do in 2 shots, and these arent just choice encounters within matches, its entire matches of "ok this one seems like how the game should be" or "ok nothing I have has kill potential and every one of my shots is passing through them."

The game just isnt enjoyable the vast majority of the time and I dont know what do because I cant improve if every firefight just seems predetermined and Im at my wits end with it.

Use the weapon range and practice on the targets in there. Are you moving while shooting? There is an accuracy penalty for doing so. Typically planting yourself and focusing on shooting your target instead of ADADAD spamming or strafing will net you the kill, if there's some distance between you and your target. If you're within kissing distance then moving around and trying to outplay your enemy in movement is probably the preferable option.

Are u tap firing at needed/medium/long distances?

I hate having to choose between being able to quickly find a full match of players or getting to play a relatively stable game where desync isn’t screwing me. Very cool

Issue is present in PS5 only lobbies as well. I hadn't thought about it in the way OP puts it but that's my experience as well. Sometimes you just walk through squads of fools untouched because your bullets feel like you're playing singleplayer with total instant hitreg, and sometimes you see an enemy as they see you but before you can even ADS you're dead in like 4 frames, or you magdump into them yet they get the kill first. In all previous BFs you could usually tell who's gonna win the gunfight and as a decent player have the confidence of knowing you could come out on top, now it's up to the BF gods

it's only a dice roll because you can't aim. you think the people with like 4k/d just get lucky 4x more than the rest of us?

This 100% happens, I’m assuming it’s server lag because you’ll get killed around a corner or rockets go through a tank like you shot it through the windows

I feel you. Sometimes you have 20-3 matches, sometimes 3-20. Today I had this like 2-11 match that we lost 0-1000 points and the two kills I got were a quick attack run with a little bird followed by getting torn into pieces.

Ive tried it all, man.
Im down siting, stationary, trigger tapping, etc.
Like I said, some matches Im.passably decent and gun play feels proper.

The majority its "oh fucking kay, I ran this dude up to 99 points and he single tapped me with an SMG" or "oh neat, this guy is a foot away from me and all 3 shotgun pumps somehow missed and all his shots land, very cool"

Like no other shooter has me whiteknuckled like this one, there is just something uniquely wrong with the gun play in this game for me and I dont know how much I can chock up to me sucking or the game genuinely just being broken.

Maybe engagements go like that for you, but I usually feel in control or clearly got outmanned, outgunned, or caught off guard when I lose a gunfight.

Im not good, I dont expect to be good, but I want it to be at least fun and feel like it makes sense, but fuck me dude its like everyone but me was given a real gun and Im running around going "pewpewpew" with a stick.

Yesss! I have the very same feeling. It's so freaking annoying to watch 75% bullets going though the players. I cannot possibly desribe of how mad I'm about the latest useless nonsense updates! 🤬🤬
