Does a “casual server” actually exist in a 13-year-old game like BF4?

I’ve seen a lot of discussions about players wanting a “casual” BF4 server where they can relax and avoid sweats. But I’m curious what everyone’s definition of casual actually is.
BF4 is 13 years old, and naturally a lot of the players still around have thousands of hours, years of map knowledge, and a deep understanding of the game’s mechanics. A player can hop on after work, not care about their K/D, and still perform well simply because they’ve played the game for so long.
Where it gets interesting is when casual servers start restricting things like certain weapons, movement, vehicles, or effective strategies because they make newer or less experienced players uncomfortable. Is that creating a better casual experience, or is it asking experienced players to play below their ability?
Should a casual server be about the environment (relaxed rules, no toxicity, no admin abuse, people having fun), or should it be about maintaining a certain skill level where nobody dominates?
Curious how everyone defines a “casual server” in a game that’s been around for over a decade.

I can only really speak for our server but to me casual means lack of rules. The UMSF server has 3 rules, don’t teamkill, play in bounds (aka no glitched spots) and move vehicles out of spawn. Everything else is FairPlay.

In my opinion it would be hard to make a server that avoids sweats in a 13 year old game cause I feel like most people that stayed behind are pretty good at this point.

Thats right, I’m talking about you who’s reading my comment right now, YOU are good at bf4

It’s true. Sometimes I go feed the dog and make a drink and talk to the family for a bit and when I get back I’m in like 3rd place.

as a player who just loves chilling in the game with around 20 kills to 30 deaths in an average game i would say its really stupid to band things like guns or gadgets or a strategy just because its powrful in your prespective,of course it might be annoying but does that really makes it okay to bann them?i dont think so,i think players should play as they want as long as they arent using glitches that give them advantage or use a hack, and not to forget that we shouldnt stay silent about those badmins, keep reporting them or expose them so we can know how bad they really are.

They do if you like getting banned, kicked, or team switched for getting too many kills or "stealing" the badmin's attack chopper.

yes you have to play during off hours when the peak of the majority of skilled players are not playing, weekdays after 5 pm EST or weekends for example typically draw the most competitive players

YOOO dougie!!! I can absolutely attest to the MnM server. Stands as the chillest and most welcoming server I have ever been on. I work night shift so being able to play with a group of cool people and still have fun on BF4 is a saint. The admins and mods are super helpful great lads.

Not really but the gameplay is slowpaced enough compared to BF6 that I consider this game “casual”….

Probably one that bans anyone over 2 kd and thats about it

Maybe even lower these days with a few of those sub 2kd dudes being much better after sucking for a few thousand hours

No higher than a 1.2 and youd probably have ur casual experience lol

The best you get is 50 casuals and the same 10 people that are on all day every day
