Zombies aren’t real, but if I’m watching a zombie movie and suddenly they are fighting rainbow flying polar bears it massively changes the tone and feel of the zombie movie.

It’s not that you aren’t going to use it, it’s that others will. If you ever played bf1, you’d understand that while no that game is not realistic to ww1, the tone was. Having a deadspace character in the trenches of France would massively impact the tone and overall atmosphere of the game. Just because you aren’t going to buy it doesn’t mean it doesn’t take away from the overall tone
It’s not about you buying it it’s about being forced to see it in-game because someone else bought it and now you have to look at it.
It’s funny it’s dead space because I remember explicitly seeing in BF2042 on the “Top Squad” screen at the end one time, a couple of regular operators and then there was a dude who looked like a blue skeleton or something and an Isaac Clarke. I play Battlefield today still because it’s one of the few big budget fun military multiplayer shooters I can just vibe out in and enjoy that actually looks the part. And stuff like this from 2042 and potentially BF6 now is a huge turn off
Almost every time I bring up skins or movement looking stupid I just get a bunch of responses saying "well, what about rendezooks". Yeah, I realise the game isn't a 1:1 recreation of reality, it's a video game, I know people don't respawn in real life either. Difference is those things aren't at odds with the tone and setting of the game. People are either deliberately being obtuse or are actually just that stupid to think that if a game isn't a 1:1 recreation of reality then they might as well just put anything in the game. The game has no enter/exit animations so why would you complain about them adding dragons to battlefield? Its just fucking stupid.
