16GB RAM vs 32GB RAM, would there be any difference?

Sununununun · 6 Sep 2026 at 18:23 · permalink

Hello guys,

I currently have 16GB single stick of DDR5 RAM. I would have preferably gone for the 32GB RAM, but obviously due to the current prices I decided to hold off on that. However, I do wonder if there would be a noticeable difference between 16 and 32GB in Battlefield 6?

If anyone has experience, please share. Thanks!

Yes, the difference will be quite noticeable but not due to higher capacity but mainly due two sticks running in a dual-channel mode

As someone who has had both.
Absolutely

Did you see difference in the Avg. FPS or 1% Lows or both? Thank you for the reply

Thank you, although from what I've heard, DDR5s aren't impacted as much by dual-channel or lack thereof

Simply not true

I play on low settings with my 3060 which I think has only 4 GB vram? And only 16gbs of ram

16GB of ram is not enough, it’ll barely run the OS these days

it's half true. they're affected but not nearly as much as ddr4 was

Wtf is that bullshit

I knew there would be a difference but wasn't expecting the impact to be the difference between comfortable gaming in 4k to going down to 1080p for a still not as good experience. 2 sticks of ddr4 is a must have in my opinion. Playable without but holy balls huge upgrade in dual channel

16 GBs of RAM are enough

Even with 8 GBs of RAM I could play the games I wanted (Assetto Corsa with some mods, War Thunder, Rocket League, all of the emulated games I tried till now, GTA 4 and many other games)

I'm not quite the fan of recent games, the only recent games I play right now are REPO and Battlefield 6

BF6 is CPU intensive. You’ll usually run into bottlenecks there unless you’re a crazy person running a 9X3D. I would slap a new chip in as it’s more cost effective right now.

From there it’ll be a VRAM issue with your card. For RAM, dual sticks beat single channel every time.
