Have you tried the new party system?

I was fooling around in the menu and somehow stumbled upon a surprisingly "intricate" way to join like-minded players via the party system.

I personally have never seen or heard of anything like this... but it instantly netted me amazing results.

I basically chose the most competitive preferences and partied up with a cool guy that completely gelled with my playstyle.

We ended up doing amazing together and added each other as friends in the game.

I hope more games start doing this... This is an AMAZING system and WAY better than going in alone.

For those who haven't seen it or don't know what I'm talking about:

Main Menu > R2 > R1 > R1 > Square

Then send a request to someone.

I never new this feature existed. Must have missed it + no one is talking about it.

I guess whoever is using it really means it. Have to give it a try, thanks for sharing

Nah, I just add people who’ve done well on my team or they add me and we squad up in future. A lot of them ended up being on here/BF sub.

I literally don't see myself ever playing the game alone again. There's no point.

Spread the word. This is just fucking awesome and honestly something so thoughtful and geared towards community and choice... I haven't seen anything like it since like, SOCOM U.S. Navy Seals in 2001.

Sure and that's cool, but let's just say you're on and no one else is on and you wanna find like minded players.

Great system to use.

If it works for you, that’s great. I just don’t put much faith in these systems with how players select for player type etc. You can say you’re competitive but could be dreadful and don’t know any basic strategies, for example.

I’ll just play by myself, otherwise. I’m always on the lookout for standout players who I keep coming across.

I mean... the setting choices and level are worth the "risk" of ending up with a noob. Worst thing that happens is you end up with a noob that you would have been with anyways if you had just done solo play without using this system.

Best outcome, you actually find another good player and own the lobby together.

The people that are in there and choose to make themselves available to invite imo are the people that are more aware of things in general, and therefore are more likely to be good players.

Adding good players from games is great too though.

It’s really just a path of least resistance thing for me. I get home from work and want to blast a few games. If the system works, that’s great for people who need it. The only problem I’d have with it is that BF doesn’t really have a great way of identifying ability so to me, I’m as well just being put in a random squad when I custom search, if that makes sense.

I'm sorry but I respectfully don't really understand your viewpoint.

This is a niche system that will mostly be used by players that take the game more seriously.

You can add filters based on game type, map size, and "competitive" or "casual" -- it then shows you the players and their levels, and literally what map they might be on at that moment.

IMO your odds of finding something who's above average are drastically increasing by using this system.

But again, I'm glad you are able to utilize your own method to success.

I just think this is really cool and thoughtful of the devs, which we do NOT see in modern AAA gaming anymore.

I think it's a great system, but not something I'm interested in myself, simply as I prefer playing alone.

I have not tried it, but noticed it a few weeks ago by accident. Searching in the main sub, it looks like its in beta and hasn't been announced or promoted by the dev team - which is odd, as one of the many complaints about the game is the lack of community and/or team play.

Oh... interesting. Fuck. I really hope they don't remove it. It seems to be working great and I know that for some reason big companies like this tend to remove community friendly features for some reason.

Not sure what you mean. If I follow your guide, I‘m in my „inbox“. And I don’t find anything similar in „player search“ or „recently met“.

I might just be stupid. 🤣

I’m not arguing at all with you about the utility of it. I’m just replying as someone who hasn’t used it, I presumed you were interested in either perspective.

I take the game too seriously, that’s why I don’t bother with a party finder and seek people manually. The filters you mention are why I don’t see myself using it, because they don’t really tell me much about the player. In that sense, I find I’m just as well going into a random squad and finding out if they’re good or not that way.

I’m happy that the system seems to work, just offering perspective on why someone might not.

They announced it with an update (there was an announcement that popped up in the main menu). I think it was a few months ago?

I looked at it and thought “man, this is super fucking cool for someone who’s not me” and never looked at it again lmao
