Add a Solo/Offline PvE Option in Portal with Progression Disabled (No-Sweat Alternative)

Dear Battlefield Team and Community Managers,

I would like to share some serious feedback regarding the current state of PvE gameplay. After a long day at work, many players simply want to unwind, relax, and shoot some bots without having to "sweat" or deal with the intense, hyper-competitive nature of online PvP matches.

Currently, setting up a proper PvE experience (like Conquest and other core modes) in Portal requires a minimum of 4 players just to launch the server if you want to keep any form of control, or you are restricted by server rules and limitations.

My core proposal:

Please implement a clean, direct option in Portal that allows players to host and start standard game modes (Conquest, Breakthrough, etc.) completely solo against bots.

To prevent any abuse or exploitation of progression, apply a strict rule:

* Completely disable all progression, XP earnings, weapon unlocks, and ribbon progress for these solo/custom PvE server instances.

Many of us are completely fine with getting zero progress. We do not care about unlocking weapon attachments or leveling up our ranks during these sessions. We simply want the ability to load into a standard map, play at our own pace against AI, and enjoy the core gameplay loop without the stress of human opponents or needing to wrangle a 4-player lobby together just to start a custom server.

Please consider adding this feature to Portal. It would be a huge quality-of-life addition for the more casual and PvE-focused player base.

Thank you for your time and for listening to the community.

Imagine advertising portal and bots progression on your trailers only to backtrack and severely limits bot play a few weeks after launch.

They could make a separate progression system for bots only and online pvp but nooo. I sincerely hope by it's 1st year anniversary, they bring back bots with no restriction so players like us can enjoy the game.

It's baffling how the majority keeps shutting down discussions surrounding Bots, saying PvP is the core DNA of Battlefield. Mind you, 1942 shipped with bots

Forgotten tech from 2042

Everyone that wants the PvE experience is just not included in on what is already going on in the community. Each clan actually loves PvE guys because they keep servers running. The problem is that there is a shortage of PvE lovers because they don’t stay in touch and seclude themselves. If you want to be a seeder (which means there will only be 4 or 6 if you ever) you need to contact clans and they would love for you to run their servers for hours.

They pulled the exact same move with BF2042: baiting PvE players only to gut solo progression on day two of early access. Same modus operandi. Making a mistake once happens; repeating the exact same pattern isn't a blunder, it’s a tactic.
There are so many straightforward ways to solve this. Here are three quick fixes they could deploy immediately:

- Restore unified progression as originally advertised. Unlocking an attachment against bots doesn't make anyone better at PvP. Playing PvE is not the same as bot-farming—if anything, it’s PvP players who farm bots to cheese progression. PvE players just want to enjoy the game they paid for.

- Allow solo Portal matches with "Modified" XP, capping progression to end-of-match XP bonuses (like 150%) to prevent abuse while still rewarding playtime.

- Add a private solo sandbox with zero XP but everything unlocked, a feature Call of Duty has had for years.

In the near term, they could easily implement a separate, dedicated solo profile mirroring multiplayer XP rates. That would completely eliminate the need for arbitrary XP-per-minute caps or balance debates—gamers aren't on the clock, and playing a video game shouldn't feel like tracking workplace productivity.

BF2 shipped with bots, BF2141 shipped with bots. I don't know where this hate from PvP players toward PvE players even comes from. Refusing solutions or rejecting game modes that won't affect their own experience in the slightest is just insane. If it's all just to brag that their red AR badge was earned against real players and not bots, that's ridiculous—we're playing a video game here, it's just a hobby.

People are so offput by this idea cause they were born after BF2. Tf you mean I can't play a solo lobby with 63 bots and have all the chaos with none of the sweat in my crack?

"It doesn't feel the same", well damn, I'm sorry your ego can't be fed unless you're pwning battledads. I play games for fun not glory. Change your undies and take more adhd medication.

Oh I didn't know that. I haven't followed BF since BF3. Then when did they added solo bots back in 2042?

That’s exactly what it is: they don’t want to admit that bots would make the grind super easy and feel cheated that players don’t “earn” those same rewards the hard way. Hell, Dice even pulled weapon progression while in tanks after maybe a week because most servers are just bots anyway and it was easy to farm once again.

It’s like the devs and the sweats are all against easy progression when the grind isn’t fun to begin with. They want people to suffer without suppressors on guns that lock it behind a 30+ level grind for some reason.

The whole point of "Verified experience" I thought was so that the community could run servers that were non-exploitable and also host hardcore experiences etc. Sadly, EA/DICE dropped the ball... again.

My friends stopped playing after the portal nerf. Meanwhile, they would have been dropping cash on cosmetic skins and the battle pass if they could enjoy it in an instant action setting like they did BF2042.

They should just have an option called solo/coop where you select the mode choose your map and then your team.

Exact reason right here that I've been trying to get a refund every single week since BF6 launch. I truly had hoped that I would be able to play BF6 the same way I can play 2042 solo or with friends and have fun. The only 20 hours I put into BF6, I wish I could get back and get a refund for their rug pull.

I want this but with all unlocks and progression (or at least a reduced amount), I paid for Portal and want my playtime respected just as anyone that prefers strictly pvp. They had a decent mode in 2042, that I surely thought would be expanded in BF6.
