Why the rage?

chupakabrikK · 6 Sep 2026 at 08:44 · permalink

I did some research and found that every single Battlefield game has had absurd or odd things yet everyone talks about refunding and how unrealistic skins or guns are.

Battlefield 1942 had Jetpacks

Battlefield Vietnam you had guns not fit to the era but mostly clean

Battlefield 2 had grappling hooks allowing weird movement

Battlefield 1943 pretty legit

Battlefield Hardline had weird guns like nail gun

Battlefield 1 turn some guns into automatic and had absurd experimental guns in multiplayer

Battlefield V had gold skins, finger guns

Now Battlefield 6 is having its turn.

Ive left out Battlefield 2042, 2142, heroes due to the future setting so some stuff was already absurd off the gate

Because this game isn’t good enough to be selling shitty skins and pushing crossovers

People love rage. Everyone else is playing 😁
I can't take the sub seriously.

That i can get behind. I dont mind cool thinks like skins and outfits but I dont want Fortnite stuff like this deadspace thing.

Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam - that was on par for the time it was made. No one was demanding historical accuracy.

Battlefield 2 - iirc there was some backlash

Hardline - nail guns exist, so why not. Just like Kolibri in BF1.

Battlefield 1 - However inaccurate historically, all guns fit the time period DICE was going for. Nothing feels out of place.

Battlefield V - is where it really started to go off the rails and being CoDified

Cause being able to slide with full combat gear strapped on to you is quite literally impossible

That is a matter of perspective

Lol hard line had 2 man couch vehicles….hilariously awesome

None of what you said seems related to why people are actually upset with BF6 . It's the codslop skins they're bringing and the codslop slip'n'slidejump meta.

I think I understand. Its not about the historical stuff but not going off the walls with pink guns and stuff?

Ive seen many different things lately. Some rage for skins on guns or operators and some for gameplay.

Im not a part of the hate train, I like the game mostly. But I can see the difference here. WW2 jetpack or shooting a finger gun are fun gimmicks. Flashy skins are not fun, they are just cringe. But idk you can barely notice them in game unless you are using one yourself.

The fact that so many people are incapable of seeing the difference between gameplay and art direction is truly astounding. I don't have a problem with a silly functionality like a jetpack, but an ugly aesthetic or art direction, that's what I hate. Now the nail gun in BFH has nothing wrong, it's quite apropriate actually that criminals would use makeshift weapons. BF1 experimental guns is the same, it's for gameplay and functionality, not ridiculous art direction.

This was when Dice had the heart with them when they make BF1. A awesome game.

Pretty much. Not being accurate to real life is not the problem, but not being cohesive is. When the game is set in modern time, you'd expect to see modern or likely soon-to-exist stuff. Not futuristic, out of place items or skins. That destroys whatever setting they were going for
