ET legacy is the stuff you need to download. All active servers are listed. You can filter on real people and bots as well.
Yep def install ET Legacy (install only 32 bit version as the 64 bit version will not work with 32 bit servers).

I highly recommend the FA servers, also The Old Farts Clan. =OF= has been around since the begining and my personal favourite stomping grounds :)
How do you set filter to only show servers with real people?
Also used to play 20 years ago, man I'm old, and just recently got back into it with my 10yo son. He's loving it! I'm also enjoying the nostalgia, but there's definitely a lot more mods now to the game compared to years ago.
no filter to show but in Legacy you will see things like 12+4 which means 12 players plus 4 bots.

also looks like SAS died over 10 years. The last active SAS player was almost 10 years ago now
Yes do it mate ! I recently made the return myself, I’ve been playing on =F|A= servers. Its still quite busy
Be ready, ETL is pretty hard if you've been away a while. It's similar to ETPro in some ways with some really skilled players on the the main active servers.
FA Is still around with the most populated JM servers and Silent servers.
It just started getting more widely used in the last year or so
