Into The Abyss Of Time

I'm completely stuck on this level! I've got 17 kills, I keep getting the 2 ring things that Alter the level layout but I don't know what to do now! I've got as far as the silver key door with the walls that crush you, although I don't have the silver key and I can't seem to go anywhere else. What am I missing here?

The Silver Key is on top of those double wall crushers. If you look closely at them you'll notice thin platforms embedded in to the side of the crushers that you can quickly run up to reach the key. Got to be quick though or you'll get crushed.

Thanks!

That level is mind crunching. I got stuck for good 10 minutes before getting the gold key 😉.

The different time periods open different paths in the level, you need to use that to your advantage. Backtracking is important, new passages open as you progress.

Same here although it took me 30 mins to get the gold runekey.
Which allow me to explore and discover most secrets along the way.
That map blew my mind as there is actually 2 full versions of it.

All the levels are awesome, I haven't finished this pack yet, but what I've seen so far is like a whole new game.

I noticed they took some ideas from souls likes with opening shortcuts for backtracking.

I got stuck here for so long and no guide online as it was too soon after release. I noticed the grooves on the crusher after about 20 mins of combing the level!

Agreed, every map is absolutely stellar. "Into the Abyss Of Time" really impressed me because of its mechanic requiring to make the same map twice and all the details that incurs. Also noticed the helpful backtracking shortcuts of various kind, but never played Souls game so did not get the reference. MG really made something special with this episode, topping their previous work.

The new levels are gorgeous and epic but boy I’m getting stuck in every level. Taking me forever.

Yeah took me a bit and finally saw the key on top and was like hmm can I get and climb on top within the grooves trying to kill me? Worked

They definitely test your Quake sense of direction lol

Yep, I was frustrated initially while getting lost or not knowing how to progress ... And ending the first few levels with 0 secrets found. But then that ancient Quake Brain flipped back on and it all suddenly felt much more intuitive. Still missing a dozen or so secrets though!

The time traveling map toward the end really fucked me up still, lol

Yeah, that level really made my head spin, but there's one thing that seems odd to me: at the end of the level, when you reach a "Stargate"-style portal (I'm not sure yet if it actually is one) after taking out the two bosses, the time ring in the middle of the room is there... and another, more modern-looking portal has replaced the "Stargate." Behind that modern portal, there's a time ring! I think you have to play around with the different time rings (and potentially unlock other areas of the level); either this level hides a secret level, or... well, I'm getting lost in theories... but regarding that ring behind the modern portal—you can finish the level regardless of whether you take it or not.
