Man Do I Miss the Nostalgia

As I post this I’ve just spent the past 2 hours wasting way too much time to use the waybackmachine to dig up my old ET clans forums. Full on nostalgia wave of being back in high school sinking countless nights and weekends into this game with my clan mates.

While legacy is a great way to relieve it, man what id kill to recapture back in 2004-2007! I’d bet none of my clans mate remember me but seeing my old post and all their names just brought me back to a way more simpler and in some cases more enjoyable time in my life!

Seeing most of them even stuck together until 2012/2013 kind of makes me wish I had stuck around!

As I get older it’s a little bit sad that I don’t think there will ever be a game that captures that feeling Like ET or really a lot of the games I played around that time frame.

Maybe I’ll hop back into Legacy and see you all out there. Sorry for the nostalgia trip, just thought many of you here would relate!

I don’t usually play through the ET legacy version just the regular ET client and F|A BEGINNERS #2, F|A RECRUITING XP SAVE (my av) are very popular servers to play on and enjoy

Hey you just gave me an idea. I also tried to find my old clans page over wbm. Sadly no avail. Man i also miss the times and fun. The Group i was with was american (im german) and they all taught me english back then in teamspeak and never gave a fuck about my high ping. So if anyone from {LW} or later reformed as =\[LOD\]= sees this by any chance, thx for the good times and for taking me under your wing for these years!

I played excessively on a just one server from 2012-2013. 2020 I looked that server up, was still online and I joined. And a few players even remembered me

Yeah I was in [BnB] Black n Blue clan back in the day. Our forums and webpage were preserved, couldn’t see individual post but did see the titles of my post from 2007 haha!

I think my clan lasted a long time but I think their servers stopped back in 2012/2013 [BnB] Black N Blue.

Who would have thought a free game back then would have such an affect on peoples gaming lives. I joined Kekkyoku and Amish Gigolo as the first Editors of ET Center and had no idea what I was in for. We ended up with over a million views in only a few Months, so successful that Vivendi Universal contacted me about starting a forum for their new game F.E.A.R when it came out.
I've told people before about starting arguments in the forums with myself to make it look like we actually had visitors in the beginning. Did not take long for it to get crazy.If anyone remembers \~Kinetic back then (2003-2006) they know how much effort we put into getting better as a team. From a Ladder team to being selected in the first CAl i / TWL Alpha League ...losing ...and then winning, then to Quakcon; those were some of the best times of our lives.
We're still around and play other games but our community's heart and soul is based on ET and the team based tactics /comms that made us successful.

I played in Flame Guards as a member for ages. Then i pop to Bunker then Fearless Assasins.
I still say no game like that. The fun the people i met there.
I play now battlefield1 but it not the same. And i meed to say no games like ET.
Yearly 1s i join up to a server and nice that remember me.
I really miss thoes times.

I remember Kinetic back in the day. And ETCenter. That place was amazing (also the IRC channels to find matches!) I was a middling player, but I'm still friends with a couple members of Violent Revolution (vR) who were cal-i/twl-a

I remember (vR), we used to scrim them when they were just getting going in Beta. We had a good relationship with a few of those guys. Praetorion (sp) comes to mind at first. Im mssing someone obvious I think.

I downloaded legacy today. I have a crappy laptop but man this game was my childhood.

I have been on the FA servers but it’s all just AI. I was super excited but kinda bummed out honestly. I was hoping it would be more active.
