is VR cheating?

I played on a public server in VR, I have some quake 3 knowledge, but not a lot.

I absolutely stomped everyone in the server, I didn't realize how easy tracking was in VR, and seeing where people would land from a rocket jump was intuitive

Do players here think I should stay away from PC servers?

You'd be surprised how much the ability to track with your whole arm by pointing in 3d space, than when limited to a 2d plane

I'll wait and see more responses,

I'm just worried about giving VR players a bad rap

There are VR only servers, but they're always empty, bc everyone looked at the VR servers, saw they were empty , and then went to the server browser

I've seen a few VR people in other servers from time to time

Its a vicious cycle

Just got quake 3 VR for my quest and IT'S INCREDIBLE!!!

Things you can't do in a PC version is summed up to this

You can do all three of these things, run, look, and fire your weapon, all in different directions and at the same time

So you can run accross a room, while looking above and below you, while firing rockets behind your back

I hope more people try it out because the game feels like it was made for VR

I’ve been wondering the same. I was pretty good back when the game first came out but nowhere near pro level. Haven’t touched it in 20 years but I hop on in VR and I’m crushing it. Leading me to believe a) VR gives some kind of advantage; b) the people still playing Quake III have gotten old and slow; or c) maybe I’m just halfway decent. I’ve done pretty well on the VR specific servers but hard to judge by that because I’m not sure how much experience those folks have.
