Do you have a gaming group right now?

It feels to me that gaming has never been in a more popular place, as I currently have \a lot\ of gaming groups on the go (details below). But! I was speaking to one of my friends who recently bemoaned that he can't find a group that lasts longer than a few sessions. I'd invite him to one of mine (he's not a bad player by any means) but my dance card is currently extremely full.

So I wondered what your gaming situation is right now? Here's what I'm currently running:

Right now, I'm running Jadestorm (currently crowdfunding!), SLA Industries, and Vampire: The Dark Ages for my local groups.

For my online (Patreon) groups I'm running two Call of Cthulhu campaigns, Pendragon, two Vampire: The Dark Ages games, one Wraith: The Oblivion, one Victorian Age Vampire, one Kult: Divinity Lost, one Werewolf: The Apocalypse, two Curseborne campaigns, one Vampire: The Masquerade chronicle, and one SLA Industries campaign.

I'm also running Call of Cthulhu for Red Moon Roleplaying (excellent AP podcast).

The local groups and Red Moon Roleplaying are once a week, the online ones are at least once a month.

Across these groups I have well over 40 players. Most of these games have been running for several months, and in a couple of cases several years (I think Pendragon is the longest running campaign at almost three years).

Accepting that my scale of running games is somewhat industrial, how often are you getting to the table?

Yeah I have like 4. One in person and 3 online.

I have three play by post games running which are all fairly strong at the moment, which accounts for about 13 players, and then i have one long-hiatus'ed live game that is going to be coming back this week (another 4 players) and then a I'm trying to get a game of Mythic Bastionland going.

While that may all seem like a lot it's been probably 3 or so months since I've played a live game that required me to be at a table in person.

I'm currently in a Monday game of Draw Steel, a Sunday game of Pathfinder, and running an every-other-Saturday game of Draw Steel that alternates with my friend's game of VTM

It's football season (I'm a coach), so all of my regular activities kinda go cold for a few months.

I have a group, but we aren't running anything until at least November.

Once we come back, I have some new stuff to test out and I want to run something im not making, but I'm not completely sure what that will be yet, but stonetop is probably the front runner.

I have an online group but I can't play with them consistently since having kids.

We are expecting another one so at this rate I'm making a gaming group myself XD.

Just a group of friends, we get together online for a couple of hours a week and try to get together in-person when we can.

Yes, two. One longstanding one (twenty years with some personnel changes), one in my local gaming club (since Feb this year). Oh, tell a lie, I have another group in the gaming club but I suspect it’s fizzling out.

I'm in a couple all of varying degrees of consistency.

The most consistent is a weekly IRL game that meets like 75% of the time. We took a bit of a break over the summer but resumed regularly a few weeks ago.

Then I have another IRL group that tries to meet bi weekly, it's my first ever group that started meeting during the COVID lockdown. Scheduling is tough so it averages like 1.5 a month rather than the intended 2

I'm in two online games that are also like 50/50 with whether each intended session happens or not but on average at least one of them meets their intended schedule on a week.

So on a given week I'd say I average about two sessions, a few times all 4 games have actually met and I've had weeks where I played 4 times lol

No, I don't. Life circumstances are keeping me too busy and burnt out to find a consistent group.

But I play solo RPGs, and that's quite fun in its own way.

Yes. I created a group made up of onlyGMs that Ive met over the years at game conventions and flat out recruiting.
Ive had dozens of groups over 40+ gamingbyears and this one is the finest by far.

I have one irl group that meets every other week.
And another that meets once a year for a weekend in the dark woods. There is some overlap between the two groups.

I have quite a few. One of my long term friends who I’ve been playing RPGs with since I was about 10. Another is friends I met when I was in high school, and another of online friends I’ve made over the years.

I run three sessions each week (all online). These are all long term stories essentially and will typically run for 1-2 years before we move on to a new story. These groups are all pretty stable, and one of them is essentially the same group i started with 5 years ago. Another has changed a bit over the years, but even then my 5 players have all remained the same for at least the last 18 months when we added in our newest player. My final group is for my son and my nephew as i'm doing my best to get them into RPGs.
Finally, i also get to play as a player in one of my games that runs monthly.

On top of that, i run one-shots and tester sessions with reasonable regularity with my groups - my next up will actually be the Jadestorm mentioned in the initial link!

I am running one biweekly game for 14 players, and we're on session... 17 or 18. We play online (Discord and Foundry), session length is 6 hours, running a home version of ICRPG/D&D.
