Clean install is not enough if an old Frostbite pk3 is still sitting in etmain. Search the whole folder for frost. Delete every version. Then Downloads only.
Full quit after. Not alt-tab. Not "I closed the window". Task manager if you have to.
Linux: case sensitivity. FrostBite.pk3 and frostbite.pk3 are different files. Windows forgives. Linux does not.
I kept a "backup" copy in a subfolder and the client still saw it. Had to actually delete it.
Hash on the Downloads page has to match. If your file size is off by even a little, you grabbed the wrong one.
Deleted every frost*, re-copied from Downloads, hash matched, full restart. Connected. Leaving this so the next person does not spend three hours like I did.
