[BFComms] Game Crash when launching on AMD systems [Updated steps]

benceeh · 26 Jun 2026 at 17:15 · permalink

We are investigating reports from players with AMD graphics card systems who crash when starting Battlefield 6. This does not seem to affect all players, and we are currently working to reproduce the issue internally to determine the next steps.
Players experiencing this issue can try performing a clean install of AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.6.4. For step-by-step instructions, please follow our PC graphics troubleshooting guide here:
https://help.ea.com/en/articles/technical-issues/pc-graphics-troubleshooting/
You can also refer to AMD's official cleanup utility guide for additional information on removing AMD graphics drivers:

has nothing to do with the Graphics driver if so the damn one you said would work it does not does same crash as with the other 26.6.2 it has to be in game code cause crash cause it did not crash this way to last update !!!

I found that by going into Adrenaline, selecting the game and letting Adrenaline use it's defaults, it let me play again.
Adrenaline -> Gaming -> Games -> BF6 -> Gaming Experience -> set to DEFAULT.
I did not downgrade driver or reinstall anything.
I hope this helps.

Same problem here. The game crashes at the splash screen. It was working fine a little over a week ago, and I've been trying to fix it ever since.
At one point, I got an error saying it was an EA issue and to try again later. I tried contacting EA to find out what was going on, but their customer service is practically nonexistent. I've also tried almost every fix I could find on the forums, with no luck.
At this point, everything seems to point to EA AntiCheat. Given EA's recent layoffs, I can't help but wonder if a rushed update or AI-assisted development introduced a bug that's affecting AMD users. That's just my speculation, but I've seen enough reports from AMD users to think something changed.
I also saw that some NVIDIA users fixed a similar issue by disabling smoothing, but that obviously doesn't help on AMD.
Another thing I noticed is that Battlefield 6 no longer appears in my list of playable games in the EA app. EA's AI chatbot just blamed Steam, which wasn't helpful. Between EA and Steam, it's been nearly impossible to get any meaningful customer support.
**System Specs:**
* AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
* AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
Adrenalin Edition:
26.6.2

Wow! Thank you. It's a shame we have to do that.
