as if longrange sniping wasnt always a trademark for battlefield, i understand the bias that because a lot of people sit with sniper in spawn it is better this way,but i disagree because i also saw good sniper players and i regularly hit 50+ kills on an open map from which a large majority are enemy snipers so "no impact" but killing enemy snipers still helps the team denying the enemies even the possibility of shooting teammates/surpressing etc...
and i wouldnt say longrange is useless, having a sniper constantly shooting the enemies on the point you re trying to capture really makes a difference, a lot of people are salty about snipers once again because they dont know how to strafe and instead of actually learning the game they rather just nerf them to the ground and hit their chest and say "well you dont headshot so its deserved" when most of the cases its really hard doing so even if thats where you re aiming constantly, come on guys in every major bf title IT WAS ALWAYS 2 BODYSHOT you cant justify the change, plus the farther you are away from the sniper the easier it is to strafe
As a breakthrough player, the problem isn't just 1 sniper sitting back and doing that. That wouldn't be an issue. It's 8-12 snipers doing it. As an attacker only type player, that is an issue. Since most objectives sit near the uncap line, or in relative vicinity of, this means the uncap line has a steady resupply of reinforcements camping it on top of the objective having a steady resupply of reinforcements holding it defensively. So you take those 8-12 individuals that are just sitting back and sniping, that's 50% of the team on most maps not pushing the point. Take another 4-6, sometimes 8 that are just there to shoot into the point to farm their KD as support and that's another quarter of the team.
That means, on many breakthrough matches, you have maybe a squad of people total trying to take an objective against 8, 12, or even the entire team of 24-32 players. That's 4 people, sometimes 6 people depending on map size. And when someone speaks up on it, you know what most people bring up? KD. "Bro, your KD sucks, shut up." "Hey, 3-7, shut up" There's gotta be quite a good bit amount of brain cells missing to understand why.
