AMD GPU 7800XT what driver is best for BF6 right now?

DrumssORIGINAL · 28 Jul 2026 at 13:41 · permalink

I have an AMD 7800XT 16GB GPU and wanted to know what driver revision for AMD cards people reccomend, I did read somehwere that newer drivers had issues and perhaps older drivers fixed this.
I currently run revision 26.3.1.
Also any tips on avoiding any AMD issues if there are any would help. Thanks

I have three AMD PCs and have literally NEVER had an issue whatsoever.
What makes you BELIEVE you need to rollback your drivers?
Or did you screw something up and jammed a grasshopper in your GPU???
Anyways, goodluck with it and have a great day.

I was reading something about later drivers having issues and ppl going back to using older drivers until some issues were fixed, wish i kept the link and stuff. Something about black screens and or hitching.
My system is win 10 x64 Pro, 32GB DDR5 6000MHz, ryzen 7500F CPU (aftermarket air cooler)) AMD 7800XT 16GB, and Nvme 1TB PCIe 4.0.
I am yet to run the game, I just wanted a heads up as to what driver revision if any was an issue. thanks for the reply

If you have Win 10 you are definitely going to have problems hahahaha. Just get Windows 11 LTSC IoT.
I hope it works for you!

Why do you have to be condescending and belittling in your reply, I find it very strange you need to go that route and not be constructive.
Have a great day!

i have a 9070 with latest driver 26.7.1 i have 0 problems. Windows 10 isn't supported anymore by M$...
maybe install the latest radeon driver and see if you have problems?
no offense but why you ask for a solution for a problem you don't have? You red somewhere something?

I came across a few threads and videos with a repeating theme that was popping up in the comments etc that a certain older driver works better. I just wanted a heads up pprior to installing the game and finding out after.
Windows 10 is not officially supported but still has an extended service branch with security patches (no features) for 3 years if you opt in.
No offense taken good question, thanks for reply.

Just disable FSR, it's what currently causes issues.

So I had major problems of my GPU disabling itself on driver 26.6.2 and .4. I was on windows 10. After that I switched to Win11 because nothing else worked. I haven't had a issue since. Currently using 26.6.4. I just downloade 26.7.1 if you want I can let you know.

Not at all, FSR works perfectly fine for me. FSR AA Native, no problems!
Have a great day! 👍

Fine for you does not equal fine for everybody else, being dismissive does not help this thread.

For the moment stay on 26.3.1 and you will be safe 🧐
People mistakenly believe that new drivers give more points in the game, keep what you have if it works 100%

Thanks, I will - i always hold off newer drivers or BIOS etc firmware as I learn what being an early adopter mean.

I am pretty sure BIOS is always good to update nowadays. I doubt a new BIOS version will reduce much performance and it often fixes critical security issues too.
