I need to destroy or assist in destroying 5 helis/jets by the igla AA. The thing is that all of the planes use flares and become below radar. How can I do this $%@%^@#$% achievement?
Also, the missiles I launch just keep missing the jet or helis even if they are not below radar or at high altitude. I shot 3 missiles at a jet and all of them MISSED (he already used his flares before I start launching my 3 missiles).

I think you need to guide the missile all the way until it hits (or misses) the target, aka keeping igla aimed, because, it's "signature feature" is that the launched missile can re-lock on the same or different target as long as you keep aiming.
It's not "Fire and forget", so when you "reload" or stop aiming, the missile self-destructs (from my observations), hence the misses.
It is a stupid AA, with all the opportunities I had, I only managed to shoot down 1-2 heli/jet per match at best

Fighting air vehicles solo is nearly impossible because they have too many ways to avoid being destroyed.

Have patience, it took me 2 days and around 15 games of CQ to complete. Pure garbage challenge, but it is done now.

Just tried this out, still not working.
I fire a missile and keep the gun aiming at the aircraft, yet the missile is MISSED for no $%@%#@ reason.
Or, sometime it reloads AUTOMATICALLY while I am aiming...........
I successfully ASSISTED in destroying 2 aircraft, but it didnt count !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Conclusion: IGLA and the game are broken.
Aye, Igla sucks. It's inconsistent, it misses, it doesn't re-lock, and when it hits, the damage is so abyssmal you question it's existence. Just like the guy above, it took me 2 days and ~20 games to do it
