Hello,
I've been playing Battlefield 6 for months without issue but today have started running into something brand new that only seems to be affecting Battlefield 6.
I can launch the game, load a match, and then within a couple minutes my gpu driver dies (black screen, can still hear audio). The driver does not recover itself and forces me to forcefully power off my PC. Prior to this the game had been running flawlessly without even as much as a stutter. The last time I played successfully was last Friday/Saturday July 10/11 for hours.
I've tried other games such as WoW, War Thunder, Mass Effect, Bioshock Infinite, and Cyberpunk (maxed out GPU usage) but they all ran the same without issue.
For troubleshooting I tried using DDU to uninstall my current driver (26.6.4) on my 7900xtx. Reinstalled it with basic settings. Turned off all additional AMD Adrenaline features. This still crashes very shortly after getting into the game.
I also tried using DDU and installing an older driver that I was positve worked well for me which was 26.5.2 and the exact same issue is present. My other installed games do not give me issues.
I'm not sure if this is related to the other Pinned AMD game crash since it's not technically a game crash.
Specs:
CPU: AMD 7800x3d
RAM: 32gb DDR6 6000mhz
Video: AMD 7900xtx
Storage: 2tb nvme
Motherboard: b650 aorus elite ax (firmware F40)
OS: Windows 10 Home 64 bit (ESU updates enabled)

Things I would try
Delete your what's in your caches , When you change gpu drivers
appdata/local/bf6/cache
appdata/local/amd/ ( I use nvidia but basically delete whats in your dx cache)
Also update chipset drivers

Had pretty much the same issue (9070xt) - what solved it for me was simply deactivating FSR.

Hey there,

Since you’ve already tried DDU, multiple AMD drivers, disabling Adrenalin features, and other games are running normally, I’d try the following next:
1. Clear BF6/shader cache, then repair the game
o Close BF6 and the launcher completely.
o Clear the BF6 cache and AMD/DirectX shader cache again.
o Then verify/repair Battlefield 6 through your launcher and reboot before testing.
2. Disable overlays and monitoring tools
o Temporarily close EA/Steam/Discord overlays, AMD metrics overlay, MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner, HWiNFO, RGB/control-center tools, VPNs, or remote desktop apps.
o Then test BF6 again with only essential background apps running.
3. Test a basic stability profile
o Keep FSR/frame generation off.
o Set graphics to Medium temporarily.
o Cap FPS to your monitor refresh rate or lower.

It might be Windows 10 flags it as a virus. I verified game files and had 3-4 missing. Might have to keep verifying until there is a fix.

Hi, i have the same Problem.
When i starting a BF6-Match , BF6 kills my AMD Video Driver within 5 seconds.
After Windows restart only the basic windows video driver is activ.
Also the monitor type is not detected correctly.

I have had 2 full AMD PCs and they never crash or have any sort of problems or errors.
AMD is literally perfect.
This gotta be on your end, you must have messed up some files somehow or something.

Last night I was able to play a few matches (as opposed to instantly locking up upon joining a match) after deleting my Battlefield 6 folder in [user]>AppData>Local and verifying files. Will do some more testing later today.

I am pretty sure its the latest AMD driver because I updated to 26.6.4 and had a crash after a couple of games which was weird because I've been stable on bf6 for a long time, I also had a crash when playing Outlast Trials yesterday with some buddies so I decided to downgrade to 26.6.1 and so far so good. Speaking of FSR tho that is completely unusable for months now it doesn't matter if you upscale or use their native AA the game freezes for a second everytime you go back to map screen

For the past eight weeks—up to and including yesterday—I played BF6 using the 26.5 driver without any issues.
Today, BF6 crashed after five seconds and corrupted the 26.5 driver.
I updated the AMD driver to version 26.6.4 and launched BF6 again, but it crashed once more.
What kind of deep-level system privileges does BF6 have that allow it to corrupt graphics drivers?
After the last crash, Windows defaulted to the Basic Display Driver, and I was unable to activate the AMD driver.
I had to remove the corrupted driver using DDU and reinstall the current driver while in Safe Mode.
I won't be playing BF6 for the time being until this issue has been resolved.

Hey thanks for your response. I've done most of the above but also noticed something interesting.
So today I cleared the shader cache, wiped my gpu drivers, reinstalled the latest amd driver. I then closed out of RTSS/MSI Afterburner. I have no overlays/fps counters running. I have no additional features enabled in AMD Adrenaline - All features set to disabled.
Out of curiosity I fired up Battlefield 5 and ran into the exact same issue. For both Battlefield 5 and 6 if I leave the game running even at the main menu where the fps is capped low it will kill my display driver after about 2-3 minutes of idling. I don't even need to load into a match to stress the GPU or anything. Just the same situation of letting it sit for a few minutes and then I have to force reboot my pc and re-enable my video card in device manager.
I once again launched some other games including Cyberpunk maxed out and ran around and idled for a while with zero issue. It's something affecting my battlefield games specifically but I have no idea what it could be.
