Not really. I never play Battlefield 6 but will occasionally fire up 2042. .The game's not dead, but it's become a casual solo play game. It's unlike any other Battlefield released since 2142 over 20 years ago in that it allows for XP and progression while only playing bots. The online multiplayer lobbies were down to very little a long time ago, but those don't account for people playing with bots. It's actually a much better experience than Battlefield 6 with its small maps virtually useless for vehicles and planes, and its Iraq war style combat which isn't as entertaining as the future war genre in my opinion.
It's really too bad that EA didn't assign a separate dev and design team to keep DLCs and maps coming out for 2042 in the last few years. BF6 has turned out poorly so they'd have been a lot smarter not putting all their eggs in a small maps online-only boring Iraq war rehash
