its only this game but about a minute after i launch it disables my wifi and entirely removes the option to turn on or off wifi from my computer until i restart so i cant play it or any online game at all

ya i already checked my drivers and mobo drivers and everything is up to date, furthermore its just this game that does it and ive never had another game brick a part of my pc before for just running the game

which WIFI hardware do you use? integrated chip/card? USB tongle?
your full system specs would help to analyze, but i rather think your machine is bloated with all kind of software and drivers, so drivers may be either corrupted or cause issues due to bloat. maybe it would also help to full wipe & clean install your machine . . so it is either this, or do you run an AMD machine just in case?
lately these are known to cause problems and crashes. AMD is on a down-fall for regular consumer business as for gaming rigs as AMD has caused trouble, issues and crashes since summer 2025 and it only got worse about AMD since then .. if it is an AMD GPU with "AGAIN" bad drivers since decades, or especially AMD motherboards in this very case
or it is simply your Wifi card or USB tongle which causes issues .. we need more information

i again can guess as some installed software and/or driver corrupts your WLAN stability, or even additionally caused by your router .. you use a latest WIFI hardware on your machine which is capable to run Wifi 7 and 6 GHz, can your router handle it? do you run 5 GHz or even 6 GHz only .. you hide informations and i begin to lose interest as i need to repeat myself
about AMD issues, Steam forums are filled with topics as AMD causes problems, even Steam "CONTINUES" to try to fix "any" AMD bs .. just as a "quick" and maybe latest example:

when you have received your new PC, have you had it completely wiped, formatted and fresh & clean installed before primary useage? it is always a must-do as pre-installed (pre-fab) machines always include old, corrupted, incompatible, "CONFLICTING" and even malicious drivers and software installed .. you can NEVER trust such pre-fab machines ..

i already understand as you want to focus on BF2042 as it is the only game which causes these WLAN network issues, and to which other games do you compare? .. but i rather think it relies deeper as mentioned.

how are your CPU temperatures while playing? run

(sensors only) in background, play a game, check temperatures .. if your CPU overheats and causes thermal throtteling, cores are shutdown briefly to prevent (further) damage which can cause performance loss at the very first stage, next level is your games minimize automatically, 3rd level to crash running processes, 4th level is a BSOD, and the final 5th stage is causing (permanent) hardware damage due to heat and shuts down your machine. your CPU may never exceed 90°C~92°C and you might need to underclock and if possible to undervolt (max -0.025V) your beasty CPU .. your GPU may never exceed 80°C~85°C
have you checked some system settings to keep up your WLAN connection?
personally i never had a single issue with BF2042, neither with my old machine, nor with my new machine .. for once i only got a black screen casued by an early BF2042 version, thats all .. and an other issue was caused by outdated GPU drivers which i had immediately reported to NVIDIA Support and Devs
before i need to repeat myself and to request again more informations .. do a FULL wipe of ALL HDDs or SSDs, do a fresh & clean install your OS .. it is HEALTHY to do this .. yes, it is a time invest of about 2~3 hours, but it is worthy.

just shut off ur wifi once the javelin anticheat menu pops up then once battlefield actually loads turn it back on. worked for me

My 11 year old computer with wifi I bought in 2014 works just fine but my brand new computer with wifi 7 is having d/c issues with BF5 and BF2024

Wifi 7 is not only faster but also transports more data aka has more bandwidth than Ethernet .. just Optic Fiber outperforms Wifi 7, but who uses an optic fiber connection to a PC, Laptop or any Mobile Device, and which machine does even have an optic fiber connection / plug
