I enjoy BF2042 to an extent and have a hankering to re-install it on my new rig. Having moved from Windows to Linux, I've noticed that a surprising amount of games actually work on Linux! I'm seeing conflicting reports about BF2042, though, and as such I'm asking if this game currently works on Linux or not. Thank you for your answer(s) and have a good day :)

No online competitive games work on Linux because of anti-cheat; only coop and offline games, etc. Unfortunately, if competitive games worked, we would have great optimization for Linux. Use ProtoDB to see compatible games.

I have gotten a few games to work quite well with Linux, Insurgency Sandstorm and previous Battlefield games for example, so I was hoping this game would work too. Oh well, I'm not missing out too much I guess. I appreciate it!

EA has always been anti-consumer. Forcing secure boot without considering that people have different setups and will have different results as confirmed by people who bricked their Pc because it won't boot anymore, or people who enabled it and they still can't play it.
