there is a hidden campaign in BF2042, it is called
"The Phantom Program"
, ..to find various easter eggs and to solve puzzles. it is a solo and co-op adventure as for 2 missions you need at least 2 players in co-op. in a later re-entry on Redacted and on Iwo Jima
throughout this "campaign" it tells you a story about BF2042, also about the Satellite you see in the opening clip, about rogue AI, about events which happened decades or even centuries ago, as well as explains events which then cause to form a future (in BF2142)
it is pretty interesting, as this campaign tells you a story of, in and about different BF eras, a complex cross-over story connection to explain various events during different BF eras, hence over centuries

the ultimate achievement in BF2042 is to unlock the
"Prototype Weapon
" and its wrap by finishing this hidden campaign, a highly TOP SECRET predecessor of a BF2142 weapon, and to unlock the
"Phantom Katabasis
player ID card" and
"Phantom Operative
player tag"
good luck, because even by this guide or walkthrough, it can be very difficult, especially on Iwo Jima you need a competent and trustworthy team of 4 to end this campaign
last year there were dozens of servers online to fulfill and finalize this campaign with others, especially when the Iwo Jima map was added for it
