If the matchmaking gods are in your favor you'll find the thousands of players on official modes.
It's a big "if" on 2042 though

Team death match always has full lobbies. Other than that, portal and conquest are the only modes to play with real players.

hm idk but here in Asia I always see 128player servers

The 128 player conquest servers in EU are most times half full with bots.
Thanks for forced matchmaking and no server browser. Why people still give money to those EA greedy ♥♥♥♥♥ is a mystery to me

EA killed off 85% of the regular player base by forcing their secure boot nonsense - that's why the multiplayer servers are so empty now.

Wrong and Wrong! Secure boot was enabled on BF2042 in May of 2025. The player base was 5k-10k on PC alone well until BF6 came out. At that time the numbers went to 5k and below regularly. Now it hovers around 1k. It wasn't secure boot but in fact the start of bf6 that brought the numbers to what you see now. BF2042 actually saw higher player numbers in 2025 that at times in previous years. BP for BF6 was a one reason.
